Lisa, soprano, is currently completing her Doctor of Musical Arts studies at the University of Connecticut under the tutelage of Dr. Constance Rock. A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music (M.M.) and the Eastman School of Music (B.M.), Ms. Conlon has collaborated in various musical idioms throughout the course of her career, specifically in classical, jazz and musical theater. While at UCONN she has performed with the Opera Theater, Wind Ensemble and participated in a scenes program with the Dublin Institute of Technology (Ireland). During her initial doctoral studies at the University of Miami she was involved in leading roles with the Frost Opera Theater and various outreach performances. While at MSM, she most notably participated in the American Theater Ensemble’s Cy Coleman Revue and sang in a master class with the late soprano, Anna Moffo. In 2002 while at Eastman, Ms. Conlon won first prize in the Lotte Lenya Competition for Singers. Shortly after she was featured in a winner’s concert and subsequently sang Minny Belle in a concert version of Kurt Weill’s Johnny Johnson, both at the Bruno Walter Auditorium in Lincoln Center.
Lisa has taught voice at BackBeat city for almost two years and enjoys teaching all levels of students. She loves teaching musical theater, helping with audition preparation, and also teaches music theory and beginning piano.
