Instructors – Muata
Muata, at 24 years old from New Haven Connecticut, began dancing at the age of 5. He was inspired by MC Hammer, his older brothers who were a 90’s singing group, and RUN DMC but the late great King of Pop himself Michael Jackson was his greatest influence. He began imitating Michael’s dynamic and intricate moves and from there he developed a love for dance. He furthered his knowledge of dance by enrolling into what is now known as The Hamden academy of Dance for Hip Hop and became a member of his high schools salsa team at the age of 15. At 16 he and several dancers in the community began a dance team named Live Wire, to keep teens off of the street and to further their careers as dancers. Throughout the years Live Wire has danced for major hip hop names like Usher, Busta Rhymes, and Bobby Valentino. They were also champions of a talent competition on BETs hit show 106 & Park. Live Wire was also his first steps in choreographing. He took his choreography along with him to college where he choreographed for Virginia Union University’s Hip hop dance team. He moved on and taught at Ultimate Dance Experience in Hamden CT and Rhythmic Blue Yale New Haven CT. Muata now continues his training at Broadway Dance Center, Bally’s training workshop Creative Jenuis and Pearl Dance studios in New York City. He continues to spread his well diverse choreography to the up and coming generation of potential star dancers.
